Rigaudon String Quartet can be booked for all events, from weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties and anniversaries to home concerts or dinners. The quartet is highly flexible, mobile and adaptable to the venue. If you are arranging a garden party and the weather is good, the quartet can even play outdoors. Just remember, we need shade on sunny days, as string instruments cannot tolerate direct sunlight. We can advise and help in planning music that is suitable to the function and complements the venue and theme (if applicable) you have in mind. Rigaudon String Quartet has a vast repertoire, including baroque, classical and romantic music, wedding music, Christmas carols, waltzes, ragtime and jazz, Latin-American hits, films, shows and opera favourites, folk and world music.
It is also possible to book the string quartet together with another Rigaudon ensemble, for example the Rigaudon Piano Trio can play at the wedding ceremony followed by the Rigaudon String Quartet at the wedding reception. We can tailor a package to suit your requirements and give a discount for booking more than one ensemble for the same event.
Rigaudon String Quartet is based in London and covers mainly South-East England. Further travel may be possible so do ask for a quote even if your function takes place outside the area we usually cover!

Double String Quartet
If you are planning something a bit more extravagant for a bigger venue, consider hiring a double string quartet. This stunning ensemble of eight players – four violins, two violas, a cello and a double bass – is effectively a small string orchestra that will be better heard in large spaces where a big crowd is present. So, for example, this would be a perfect solution if you were to be married in St. Paul’s Cathedral or have reserved Blenheim Palace for a corporate dinner. Most of Rigaudon String Quartet’s repertoire can be played by a double string quartet and a list can be provided on request. We are happy to advise about this bold and unusual choice of live music and give you some ideas about how to make the most of it.
Rigaudon String Duo
Live music does not have to cost the earth. For smaller events and budgets we also offer string duos, consisting either of two violins or a violin and cello. The repertoire for the duos is primarily in a classical style. Duos are a good option if there is a limited space for musicians and a string quartet cannot be accommodated, or if you are having a gathering for a small number of guests.
Repertoire for String Quartet
Rigaudon String Quartet has a wide repertoire and we pride ourselves on being able to offer music to suit all occasions. If you can’t find what you are looking for in the list below, make a special request and we will probably be able to grant it! If the music is not available, we also have professionals who can make brilliant arrangements for our string quartet (there is a small extra charge for this).
The repertoire is divided into the following sections:
- Wedding Music
- Baroque
- Classical & Romantic
- Opera
- Jazz & Ragtime
